How do I access my ARP Metal dedicated server console?

Overview

You can access your ARP Metal™ dedicated server console over IPMI, and insert CD-ROM ISOs using IPMI’s Virtual Media feature. The ISO library is available here.

All ARP Metal™ dedicated servers include IPMI with these features:

  • Console access
  • Health monitoring (temperature, voltage, chassis intrusion sensors, and more)
  • Power control
    • Power on
    • Power off
    • Power cycle
    • Reset
  • Virtual Media (mount a CD-ROM ISO)

Console Access

IPMI access is restricted to authenticated users via the Customer VPN for security reasons. Access requires these steps:

  1. Log into Phoenix
  2. Click your “ARP Metal(tm) Dedicated Server” service
  3. Visit the IPMI URL link
  4. Login with provided credentials

To access the server console: Click Remote ControlConsole RedirectionLaunch Console

Virtual Media

To mount an ISO to your server’s CD-ROM drive:

  1. Click Virtual MediaCD-ROM Image
  2. Complete the form with:
    • Share host: 192.168.244.254
    • Path to image: \iso\<filename> (replace <filename> with the ISO name from the library)
  3. Click Save (should confirm upload to BMC)
  4. Click Mount (status should change to “There is a disk mounted”)

The ISO becomes available as a boot option on the next server reboot. Open a support ticket to request additional ISOs.
